2019 Sanford Dementia Caregiver Symposium
16 years!
That is how long Dementia Alliance of North Carolina and the Enrichment Center of Lee County have been partnering to provide top-notch education and outstanding resources to dementia caregivers and the community-at-large.
This year our Dementia Caregiver Symposium will be Tuesday April 16th at the recently renovated Dennis Wicker Civic and Conference Center.
There will be over 30 resource exhibitors present to share much needed information, that alone might be enough reason to attend!
However, we will also have amazing expert speakers for every stage of cognitive impairment.
Our morning presenter, Melanie Bunn, RN, MS, GNP presents over 200 sessions each year at local, statewide, national and international conferences and meetings with interactive presentations using learner centered educational strategies. Always a favorite, Melanie this year will offer “Uncommon Answers to Ten of the Most Common Questions Asked by Care Partners.”
Our afternoon keynote presentation, “Protecting your Loved One from ‘Brain Health’ Fraud”, will be from Pinehurst Neuropsychologist Dr. Karen Sullivan.
Dr. Sullivan is well known for not only her unique practice, but also her I CARE FOR YOUR BRAIN Facebook Live Lectures. These lectures are easy to understand, multi-dimensional brain-centered talks sharing all aspects of brain heath and information in an engaging format.
In addition to these two powerhouse speakers, we will also have breakout education sessions, the opportunity to experience the Virtual Dementia Tour®, health screenings, a boxing demonstration, and interactive table displays from our exhibitors.
April 16th will be a day filled with information guaranteed to give you pertinent and immediately applicable caregiving tips, along with a delicious lunch, all for the low price of only $10! To register, please visit www.DementiaNC.org/Sanford2019. Registration closes April 9th, so please don’t delay.
