We are pleased to share that Lisa Levine, BS, CDP, has been appointed Interim Executive Director by the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina Board of Directors.

Lisa Levine, BS, CDP, has served as Senior Director of Programs for Dementia Alliance of North Carolina since 2009. In her leadership role, she guides organizational strategy and operations while overseeing educational outreach and the development, implementation, and evaluation of DANC’s programs and services. She will continue her role as Senior Director of Programs in addition to her new responsibilities.

Lisa works closely with families, community groups, government agencies, academic institutions, and other non-profits to carry out the organization’s mission of supporting North Carolinians living with dementia and their care partners. After receiving her degree in Psychology from the University of Florida (Go Gators), she began her career in skilled nursing facilities as an activity director. Since that time, she has gone from establishing and leading assisted living memory care neighborhoods to working with all types of long-term care communities on quality assurance and dementia training for team members. Early on, Lisa discovered her passion for improving the lives of those with dementia—a commitment she continues to champion today.

Lisa has been a care partner for several family members and friends living with dementia. In her free time, she works in dog rescue, transporting dogs so they can be adopted across the country and fostering dogs until they find new furever homes. She is happily owned by the DANC emotional support princess puppy – Ruby. She is also an avid reader and enjoys trying out new vegetarian recipes.
