ABOUT DR. KAUFER

Daniel Kaufer, MD

Dr. Kaufer was a source of knowledge, answers and hope for the families he served at the UNC Memory Disorders Clinic. His vision of “what dementia care should be” played out in his research and how he helped families get the resources they needed and deserved. Also, no matter how busy he was with patients and research, he always found time to help us put on amazing annual conferences bringing experts in Lewy Body dementia, Frontotemporal degeneration, and Primary Progressive Aphasia to speak with family caregivers.

Dr. Kaufer was also a Dementia Alliance of North Carolina Board Member for over 15 years. He is greatly missed by many.
