EDUCATION

Dementia Alliance of North Carolina provides education and training for family and professional caregivers and works with community partners, such as Area Agencies on Aging, faith-based organizations, law enforcement and many others to assist across the state. We bring educational workshops, hands-on training, conferences and support group facilitator training to residents of North Carolina. Providing caregivers with education, information and resources helps to relieve stress and reduce caregiver burnout, providing a better quality of life for both the individual with dementia and the caregiver. Dementia education reduces stigma and also helps neighborhoods and businesses to be more dementia-friendly.

Caregivers attending our educational programs tell us their stress levels are lower, they feel more empowered and knowledgeable about caring for their loved one, and they feel an increased sense of community by connecting with others on the same journey.
